One of the the advantages of working for yourself, especially in an unconventional occupation, is the ability to set your own schedule, at least within certain bounds prescribed by demand and your desire for work. I can't imagine a more personal decision than which days to take off. Purely up to you and your own economic judgment (or religious beliefs, substitution curves for money/leisure, etc.).

It's a very personal decision and also, it's completely subjective at times as well. Thanks for your always well thought out responses!
kinda like textush wrote, when you are the president/CPO (chief pleasure officer) of your own corporation, you get to decide if you want "sacred" days. (i had my own corp for 1 yr, so i have some experience at that)
it seems to me that it kinda boils down to ... how important to you is getting revenue? no work=no revenue.
if you wanna work everyday, do so. if you wanna take sundays off, do so. if you only wanna work 10am-4pm, do so.
your clients shouldnt be setting your schedule!!
if this is your only income, i would imagine the pressure to work is strong. if this is not your only income, maybe it's less.
because there is pleasure involved, it might depend on how much companionship and/or sex you (the provider) want.
compare/contrast this w/ all the hub-bub raised last fall about companies "forcing" people to work the major holidays.
me, i hobby when i want, where i want, and w/ whom i want. i just hope you and other providers also provide when, where, and w/ whom you want.

Yes, the pressure to always be available to work is certainly there. As mentioned above, sometimes I can have a super slow week and then over the weekends, it makes up for the previous slowness.
Or one can apply that same logic to a slow month as well.
This work can be really hard on the heart and head. It's difficult to explain that because so much of the time, our actual visits are a lot of fun and completely pleasurable.
But again, even with the good guys (and there are plenty) ... it's still a very difficult thing that we do. So we NEED that down time.
What I've been doing, so far, works for me. Which is taking days off when opportunity presents itself or I just need the down time. Then, I'm taking those days off.
It IS one of the biggest advantages of working for yourself. One has to be very self motivated and keep making that motivation. (Food and paying bills is a fairly decent motivator for most, I'm sure!
)
However, I've also very much admired women who tell me that Sundays (or any day) are their days off each week and there is NO exception. I think that that's just fantastic.
I sincerely appreciate all of the input, folks. Thanks!
