Pretty much any place that's not a national chain should be good. I don't mean to be hatin' on the chain restaurants; it's just a great area for quality local stuff.

I recently discovered Jeff Creole Grill on Veterans by the Rouses. The owner used to be the head chef at a well known restaurant in the quarter.. never had a bad meal yet and they have a killer blue cheese wedge salad.
