Tell Landlord you want a 6 month lease and will pay six months upfront. If you can swing it, most will take that deal in a heartbeat. Originally Posted by bobmidnight

Me too! Convo is near the top of my activity list. Perhaps we already have? Hmmm....I wonder.

It's always bothered me that guys jump to the conclusion you ladies aren't reporting any of your earnings. Of course you're not reporting all of it but neither does my mechanic. Originally Posted by trojantide

Exactly.
Makes perfect sense as most of the guys here view us not much better than a feral dog so HOW in the world could we actually be human and honest and want to do things correctly. Originally Posted by Amber Does

Well I do work another job but it's under the table. I can get a statement from my employer. But it's hard finding someone who take just the statement and not pay stubs.
I'm going to try right now putting a ad up on Craigslist.

And...

Yup. It's hard at first for me I'm a big procrastinator so I have finally just recently started a business legally. getting an LLC and opening a business checking account. But mainly because I will have a fully functional real business by the end of the year but it definitely gives you a piece of mind when dealing with things when you are legal Good luck.

For now since you obviously aren't going to jump into a business I would suggest putting an ad on Craigslist houaing wanted stating your situation of you need an apartment ASAP but you do not have proof of income but you can pay first last and security if need be to move say your money came from babysitting or your parents or something for now Originally Posted by Amber Does

I'm coming to a dead end in my apartment hunt.
I can not find a landlord that does not require proof of income.
I am trying to move from my place as soon as possible since my lease is up very soon.
Do any of you ladies or gents know of any rental properties or landlords that would rent to me? Originally Posted by BlueEyedBeauty01

I think it would be nice if all the ladies paid their taxes. I mean - how about nicer parks and roads and etc.?

Additionally, you may wish to consider what your social security will eventually be. (If it exists then haha so they say..)

As far as locating a Landlord who will accept you without proof of income, my suggestion is to ask around at local watering holes.

IMHO it is absolutely justifiable that a landlord refuse you. Not everybody is willing to rent out their assets to a person who may have income from illegal activity. Makes perfect sense to me.

I do understand your struggle with housing and wish you luck.

If you are afraid or nervous about filing taxes, you may wish to discuss it with some of your clients who are familiar or in the ladies room.
