The KC earning tax takes 1% of your gross income and poof it's gone. Now you do get to deduct it off you fed and state taxes but their is a loophole on your KS tax; It cannot create a refund. So you give the city an extra 1K to either live or work there and you pay higher taxes on your home, Probably more if you live outside the KC school district.
