A Texas lady invited me down to attend a social with her. I would rather attend one locally socialize with the hometown ladies.

Is Susan just retired? I never met her but was always a part of her groups and boards.

Ok, I graciously accept being the "weirdo" in this thread. My hobby life is something I wish to keep between myself and those I see. So the idea of meeting up anywhere for a meet and greet is a turn off to me. Meeting a provider for dinner or drinks as part of our date is perfectly fine. But I just would not want to meet up at a gathering of providers and clients, no matter how fun or what the benefits of doing so would be.

man I hope she isn't retired and can organize one of these - I really enjoyed the 2 I went to albeit very small - those gals I met were the ones I saw the most thereafter...

truly was a great way to hobby - so safe, perfect screening that went both ways, all were respectable and respectful hobbyists, great ladies, ice breaker like environment, damn now I really wish one would pop up here utr...

I'd love to go! Someone please PM me if this happens (just please not in June, I'm gone almost the entire month). I'd love meeting the different ladies, and especially the UTRs.

Some of our best M&Gs were held at a hotel bar. They were casual and intimate and a terrific way to meet a bunch of local providers (and for providers, meet clients). The problems came when the group started to get too large for the space, plus we had some people who weren't thrilled about paying hotel bar prices for drinks and appetizers, and then there were guys who didn't want to be seen going into a hotel in their home town. The advantages were other than us the people were mostly traveling and there was no need to make reservations. Too bad they got out of hand. It seems to me that around here M&Gs are over with. The successful M&Gs were organized by private groups like board savvy etc. Seems as if those days are gone unfortunately..

Last anyone heard from her she was about to do a run in Federal Prison. I cant remember the exact reason but I think it had to do with using federal databases illegally. Can anyone help me out here. There was also a provider who was arrested for counterfitting, anyone remember who that was.
