The series is better than I expected but its a pale shadow of the books. There is so much detail left out. I keep pausing it and explaining the significance of things to my friend when we watch. She refuses to read the books

BTW for those who like the series, a little show called Game of Thrones For Dummies is on youtube (with a very pertty hostess ). ATTENTION: If you have not seen the tv series, do not watch these youtube shows as they will spoil the tv series!!! Each show breaks down each episode in just a few minutes so you can get a better grasp of the series should you or a friend need it... No pausing
