2023 Steelers Season Thread

As someone who was at the game I will say the Bills didn't even look like they were trying and the Steelers got a shit ton of flags to go their way. As someone who won money betting Pittsburgh I was happy with the outcome. But again, it's pre season and I'm going to be shocked if the Steelers make the playoffs. AFC is just too stacked.

I like what I'm seeing on both sides of the ball, so far. Jalen Warren continuing to be the badass he was last year. Washington just straight up looks like "the answer" in goal-to-go situations.

Alexander, Peterson and Herbig all seem like quality additions on defense. This team already looks superior to last year, where they finished the second half 7-2 and got to within a whisper of the playoffs.

I have high hopes. If they don't at least win a playoff game this year, I will consider them under-achievers.
We now have legit backups almost everywhere, something we didn’t have before. Our LB depth is great!

If I was Najee, I would be looking over my shoulder. It’s become obvious that Tomlin has no choice but to mix in Warren…..a lot!!

Unfortunately as good as they looked their road to anything meaningful runs through Cincinnati

Hell of a first two series by the offense
I don’t need to see anymore. Let’s go!!!!
This team is already much better than last year's squad. Gonna be some fierce competition for the AFCN title this year. There's no single team you can call a "clear favorite" to win the division.

atlanta was not using their first string

one should keep things into perspective before thinking we have a contender

san fran will be a good measuring stick.

They will. But when has perspective stopped yinzers from having Lombardi-flavored fever dreams?
I don't think there's any question this year's team is demonstrably better than last year's. Like, a lot better. Barring any major injuries, they should definitely be a contender (for the division, anyway). Also, both Baltimore and Cincinnati are arguably worse than they were last year.

But the preseason is just that. Like I. Said, let's see how they do against San fran
It seems obvious to me that a young Kenny is better than an old Ben. Old Ben was overpaid, beat up, overweight and lost his arm strength. More depth everywhere because of extra money not having to pay Ben. That, and Omar Khan.

Yep….I’m an optimist yinnzer. With good reason.
