Makes sense. That's way before my time. Again, I was surprised I never even heard of it. VOA was neither mentioned in my high school government class nor any of the political science classes I took as an undergrad. If it was mentioned in any of those classes, it certainly was not discussed at length enough for me to even remember it. Anyway, thanks for the insight.

I'm kind of surprised you never heard of the program Voice of America. It was set up to send radio broadcasts into Eastern Europe during the Cold War.
Of course I learned a lot of history just listening to stories from Grandparents and Great Aunts and Uncles who were born in 1900 to 1925. There is a lot not being taught in schools about history.
