Been a Democrat Governor in CA for 13 years.

Less than an inch of rain has fallen in Los Angeles since last April. That's not a policy blunder. 98mph Santa Ana winds is not a policy blunder. Unusually high pressure in the north mixing with unusually low pressure from the south, creating a perfect storm for wildfires to spread over L.A. is not a policy blunder.

CA was not prepared. Fire fighters budget was cut and reallocated to other things. Water sources diverted. Other measures to minimize an outbreak not taken. Water management poor. Fire hydrant management poor. Hiring practices based on DEI vs merit. Fire equipment given to Ukraine.

Speaking of CA let’s look at the results of what having an all Democrat government can do for you! Remember, CA is the model the left wants to spread to the US. You seriously want these results?

- CA has the highest poverty rate at 13.2% of any state despite being the 4th largest economy in the world

- This poverty, despite the state having an annual budget of ~$297 billion- the most significant state budget in the US

- That poverty, despite the highest spending on public welfare programs in the US (< $100 billion annually)

- All of its failures, despite a progressive income tax system of up to 13.3% and a state sales tax rate of 7.25%- both the highest rates in the nation

- Despite all those taxes, CA ranks 48th for road conditions, with 44% of roads rated in poor condition

- Despite all those taxes, CA education ranks below average in national assessments for math and reading proficiency

- Despite all those taxes, California's violent crime rate has risen by ~16% since 2019, while most of the nation has seen rates declining

- Despite all that money, upgrades to state grid infrastructure have been slow to scale and have not hit stated annual targets

Global warming forced LA mayor Bass to recommend ANOTHER budget cut before the fires. My gosh, the suffering she has had to endure in her amazing fire preparedness abilities.

“LA Mayor Karen Bass called for $49M in additional cuts to the fire department just *one week* before the LA fires which would have shut down 16 fire stations.”

And here with global warming increasing risk some say it would have been prudent to double down on fire preparedness.
