A few years back I showed up at a local AMP shortly after it was shut down - a cop met me at the door as I walked up - started asking all kinds of questions. I played stupid and did not answer any question with anything remotely like a direct answer. He tried to intimidate me and said they had tapes and he hoped they did not find me on them.
I mostly agree with what FL40.
But several of the local places are clearly offering straight up prostitution (not you typical rub and tug) and I am willing to bet a lot of money they are trafficking women.
They may pop up again and maybe you are safe going to them - I would still be careful. I don't see them leaving these places alone.
And yes as FL40 says - never tell them what you want or negotiate price for anything. Hand them the full tip up front when you pay for the massage. While it is a crime for a massage therapist to perform a sex act - it is not a crime to fuck a massage therapist - just a crime to solicit sex for money.
They probably want to deport them.
This is from the cbs article: “ In one instance, a plumber servicing the Sun Spa reported finding drains clogged with condoms. Customers interviewed by law enforcement, as reported in the criminal complaint, admitted to paying for sexual services at Xie's establishments”
Whoever that plumber is, F U
Yes - the plumber is clearly an asshole and anyone who admits to anyone in law enforcement that the paid for sexual services is a complete fucking idiot.
First, Tomb is spot on. I'd rather go to prison than explain to my SO, kids, family, and coworkers what I was up to.
Second, everyone should read the CBS article. This was not about trafficking or immigration - it was about long ongoing investigation into prostitution. And LE has been surveilling these places for a long time. Who knows what other places they are watching right now?
BE VERY CAREFUL. Especially if remaining anonymous is important to you.
Don't be like a gambler and think your luck will hold. I have been to AMPs around here more than 100x. I love how upgraded the service has gotten in the last couple of years. But they are so blatant now the hammer coming down is inevitable.
I am going to be happy with what I got and now find some other way to scratch the itch.
“I would like to contact my attorney.”
“We just want to know……”
“I would like to contact my attorney.”
This isn’t about if you actually did something wrong. Always remember, “… anything you say can, and will be used against you in a court of law.”
There is zero upside to answering any questions. Ever.
…. and if your picture is going to make it on the news, it’s because you have been charged. To be charged, they will need evidence that you committed a crime and being at a massage parlor getting a massage is not a crime. If your face makes the paper it’s because you wanted it to by confessing to something allowing yourself to be charged. Surveillance in the rooms is highly discouraged due to the privacy of innocent individuals being violated. So, unless you’re balls deep when that door opens, you’ve got nothing to concern yourself with, and even THEN, it was consensual and no money was exchanged for such act.
They are after sex trafficking, money laundering, drugs, firearms, whatever illegal activity being committed by the owner and likely on a big scale.
Or by asking a question of a scared employee with poor language skills a complex question about their clients actions that they accidentally or purposefully answer with a yes. If they want to charge you they will find a way.
This will be ugly sex trafficking
Even when there for a legit massage (yes really) never liked the unlocked front door and opened/propped back door to the alley. In between those two unlocked doors : cash and ladies who would be afraid to report a theft to LEO.
Plenty of desperate people in Albany.
If any of you gents went to any of these, I’d be very worried.
They have video and no doubt your car and plate number.
This is just the beginning. It’s going to bust wide open.
There is a FB group for Guilderland that made a funny post about "not so happy ending." At first I thought it was from the town itself but its not. Meanwhile they got one sitting under their noses. Since the news went on about this being a two year investigation, I wanted to troll and ask "So it took Waterford PD two years to have a bad session?" Yeah, this was more than a show of force and make the local community happy.
Anyone see the TU ad thats not behind the paywall? Channel 6 and TU seem to have the most coverage so far.
I disagree with FL40 - I think that they want to shut these places down and because there is so much money at stake the only way to really shut them down is to make the stakes really high for the owners. These places have been locating in higher traffic locations and they have become far less discrete about what they offer. As I have said before I have had ladies walk me right to the door completely naked. They run ads with their location and what they offer. They are just cocky or stupid or both.
I guarantee you that other tenants in the shopping centers and community members are well aware what goes on and they are complaining about it. You are deluded if you think otherwise.
I also agree with FL40 and disagree with Bugsy ( I sure hope he is wrong) - I think the chances of a customer getting into much trouble are pretty non-existent unless you are stupid. But having said that - I would just avoid these places all together for a while because I don't want any chance of getting caught up in any drama.
Be smart and stay safe. It is just pussy and there is a lot of it out there. Move on to safer pastures for now.
