Good burger joints in the area i would say chris madrids, armadillos & lords kitchen.. La gloria has awesome food n on the river but away from the downtown scene. Plus not to mention s. St marys is down the street &has a few awesome bars, the mix (i took malaya there before she loved it), limelight & brass monkey.

Ladies n gents call me if ur ever in the downtown area me & my roomate Laren starr will def have a drink or 2 with u.

Good luck n happy eating... Oh shoot i forgot its First friday in my neighborhood so you ladies who tour look in to it.. you will love it!

Ahh. The BBQ place I was trying to remember is:
http://barbecuestation.com/

1610 N.E. Loop 410, San Antonio, TX 78209 Phone: (210) 824-9191

"Winner of 8 Awards by the San Antonio Express News for Best BBQ and Best Ribs since 2000"

They are less corp. chain and more serious backyard Texas BBQ! Yum!

Have a Great stay!

I've recently become fond of the Rusty Bucket off of 36th north of 90.

Better than decent BBQ, comparable to Smokehouse @ Roland and rigsby.

These eats are in relation to travel south on Broadway from the airport. One of my fav's is Beto's on Broadway, left side, just inside 410, very close to the airport. Empanadas and fish tacos are incredible. Further down Broadway is Paloma Blanca, just before Austin Highway on the left. Try the guacamole made at the table and the Poblano soup rocks. Easy burger stop is Cheesy Jane's at Broadway and Hildebrand, again, on the left. bean burger, tots, and a malt and you'll need to schedule six hours with your personal trainer to work it off, and you'll think it's worth it with every repetition. La Gloria's at the Pearl off of Grayson is another great stop, tends to be a little pricey, but I'll still be there once a week. Instead of heading down to Cheesy Jane's and La Gloria, take the Hildebrand exit off of 281 South, turn right. Taco Taco at Hildebrand and McCullough(??) for Bon Appetite's Best Taco in America, get there by 11:00, not open after lunch. Chris Madrid's is further down on the left (need help with address), but again, get there by 11:00 for lunch.
Happy Eating Let me know if you need a lunch date.
