Let's see if I can make this simple enough for you to understand. If a data source is traditionally slanted in favor of Democrats, and that data source begins to report information that is favorable to Republicans, that makes the information more credible, since the data source has demonstrated that they are extrememely unlikely to carry water for Republicans.

If The New York Times ever editorializes in favor of Obama being impeached, you'll know he's really screwed up badly. The editorial, for impeachment, will carry more weight than an editorial by a traditionally conservative newspaper like the Washington Times.
