Grandview and IHOP

IHOP - The pancake people have the term "IHOP" registered as a trademark; they filed a lawsuit against the use of IHOP by the International house of prayer: and won. The church people can not use IHOP. The recent news story in the KC Star used the term IHOP to tell of the troubles of a murder plan by the cult. The reporters on the KC Star need to check the background of the terms they use. I wondered at the time if IHOP, the pancake people would sue the KC Star.

I was too young to remember it...but my folks have detailed how it leveled the house we were living in at the time...

Thankfully we were visiting relatives elsewhere when it hit or this SHMB would most certainly be deprived.. Originally Posted by malwoody

Two, Ruskin High School was being built at the time and when the tornado came through, it wiped the letters off except R U I N. Both plausible as we know tornadoes can do some strange things. The ripping off the letters is pretty creepy though.

Damn Woody, didn't know you ever lived in Mo, ya freaking hillbilly...lol

There is a good chance we know each other then. Too fucking funny...lol

P.S. The Tornado I speak of was the other fooseball place off of Hickman Mills Drive, behind the old Crest grocery store and close to the Ramada Inn talked about in this thread. The "A" is silent in this Tornado.

So be careful out there....
(had to say something that is on subject... would hate to get pointed for thread highjacking)

IHOP in grandview is not a pancake house it is a cult church Internaltional House of Prayer. When you become a member you have to sign your assets over to the church. They then provide you with living quarters, food and entertainment stipens. Originally Posted by dirty dog

I also was not required to sign anything over but I was expected to be in the prayer chapel at given times no matter if I had any sleep.

I am not a member so I don't really know but can only go by what I have been told. This came up in chamber because some where questioning why the debit cards had the churchs name and not the individuals name.

We were supposed to spend x amount of hours praying and if something major like 9/11 happened we were supposed to be on our faces in prayer, and required to fast.

Glad I got out when I did. That is scary
