Colombia

You missed the part where he mentioned how many U.S. citizens are in Colombia illegally and was quite magnanimous in not playing the toddler game like Trumpybear in the game of tit for tat

Hey. Devo. Still waiting on those charge sheets. You get em yet?

Does "treated well" mean they need to be served more than the coke and pretzels I receive when I fly on US airlines? Do they get to check 2 bags free?

And how many U.S. citizens are down in Colombia illegally? That's odd. Did Petro give a number? Why doesn't he just deport them? Are they spending too many dolares? Tell us more so we can connect the dots, Gristle.
HDGristle's Avatar
He did give a number.

Maybe you can find it and help Devo find the charge sheets for who was on that plane.

Btw, you do know how ICE and CBP sent out folks under Trump 1.0, right? They heavily used civilian airlines.

Guatamala accepted 80 on a military flight. Mexico didn't give a green light for permitting military planes. Colombia pushed back and Trump hissy fitted over 193 people.

Trump got what we wanted. New leadership, strength.

This ain’t the same weak and woke White House of the last 4 years. And it’s a message to the world.

Yeah, the world learned he's easily triggered and very insecure.

And too much of a pussy to pull that same move with Mexico, who defied him on Sat for essentially the same move.

We see from Petro's efforts that Sheinbaum has leverage. She sees it too. He can't execute his plans without her consent

I find it very entertaining how Gristle desperately spins every tiny detail of every trump action in the worst light possible for Donny. He's a pussy, he's easily triggered, he's insecure, he threw a hissy fit, he can't execute, etc.

When we point out how silly & preposterous Gristle's constant negative refrain is, he dodges our questions, claims we're not "connecting the dots" right, and/or deflects by asking for irrelevant trivia like the "charge sheets" of the deportees.

Perhaps this is WINNING, but I can't help worrying that Gristle's head may explode. TDS squared. It hasn't even been a week since the swear-in, and Trump is just getting warmed up.

I have loved watching this week. And his Colombian hissy fit is one of my favs.

Devo was also very specific about what those on the plane were guilty of. If you can succesfully help him validate that I would owe you one.

They were subject to the jurisdiction of the U.S. afterall and their detention and deportation to Colombia is proof of that. Petro gets it. As does Sheinbaum.

He said criminals, rapists and murderers. Go back, you'll see it.

DHS, CBP and ICE have used civilian aircraft to deport criminals, rapists and murderers for quite some time. Still are... but suddenly that's a problem? Do we not know how that works?

And no, all the news reports don't. Most are silent on that because they don't know who was on the plane. Nor do we. You should be able to readily admit that.

Like I said earlier. Loving the energy.

And nobody cares whether they're deported using military or civilian aircraft. We just want 'em out.

So stop nit-picking. Not a good look. Unless you're trying to make Salty spit out his beer laughing again.

My time is never wasted, but if you feel yours is that's on you.

Sorry, Lusty. Facts matter. Optics matter. The avg cost of a military flight vs a DHS chartered flight matters. As does chartered flights vs commercial flights.

If they're using military flights on simple misdemeanor illegal crossing then we're burning money and goodwill with allies. And our adversaries will be just fine sending more help us burn more. A criminal is a criminal, after all. Gotta get em out by any means necessary.

Show us the charge sheets for those Bogota flights
HDGristle's Avatar
Before I forget. Colombia accepted 174 deportation flights last year. And 450 from 2020 to 2024.

There were bilateral agreements on how they are to be conducted.

Brazil has a similar agreement in place since 2017.

The flights are coordinated between the U.S. and authorized by the receiving country. So when we circle back to the original bubble

How exactly do those American planes get permission to land in whatever country the want to land in to drop off illegals?

They don't.

Nobody will refuse us.
Pure bullshit, as we learned yesterday.
Did Trump get what he wanted regarding Colombia? Just a yes or no. No whatabouts. No spin. No optics.

It doesn’t matter what you think regarding the means.

Trump accomplished what he wanted out of this. Like it or not, it’s called leadership. Something Biden was 100% unable to do.
HDGristle's Avatar
No. The migrants apparently aren't in Honduras.

They were back in the U.S.

The deal was stated as contingent on the first plane landing and the flights are being renegotiated. So it's still an ongoing issue.

Mission Accomplished, though... right?
