They've been trying to get rid of all of the social safety net programs since they were passed....they think they can use the current budget crisis to finally get it done. That's what every bit of this is directed towards. The repukes have always hated social security, Medicare, Medicaid, the EPA, etc etc etc. Now, because of them crashing the economy, they think its a perfect opportunity to finally get rid of all of these programs they've loathed for decades under the pretense of the current budget hysteria. Not gonna work. People like those programs and they serve a legitimate and necessary purpose.

The problem with medicare or social security is not that they exist but how they are funded. The pay as you go process leads to demographic problems like we are facing now. The ability for congress to spend the tax money raised for these programs on anything they want has also led to a trust fund full of empty promises. Had the congress had the guts to fund the program properly we would not be facing these problems. I really doubt we will get more than bandaids that push the problem down the road further from any future congress.

Why would someone pretend to be black? Why would someone pretend to be someone else in any situation? Kind of mental innit? Its a free country I reckon so if he wants to be a nutter fine by me I guess...
