1988 is a long time ago: Go Irish!

A&M tied with Georgia for 5th in the AP. And Notre Dame could have played perfect and still not covered.

Could you imagine a game between A&M and Oregon. Go to the men's room to take a pee and you might miss 3 scores.

What a disappointment that game was. I turned it off at halftime, and I almost never do that, but it was clear to me that Alabama was just so far and away better than the Irish that night that Notre Dame had no chance at all.

Notre Dame had an excellent year and a very good team. I think they would have beaten Florida and LSU; I have my doubts about A&M and Georgia, but any of those matchups would have provided a better game than we saw. Congrats to the Crimson Tide; it's a title they well and truly earned.
My dad and his 6 brothers went to St. Ritas. All are Bears, ND etc fans. He worked concessions at Soldier Field as a teenager in the late 1940'S. Was just wondering. Hope you are well
