Tomlin is average without a HOF QB. His assistants are worse.
... Ye Christ there, mates - the 3rd down play call was shitty also!
That Canada bloke is sitting home surely laughing at this!

And can you blame him?? ... He didn't have play-calling skill
to paint the shithouse roof, but how do the Steelers LOSE
two straight home games to a pair of the worst sides in the league??

... A bleedin' DISASTER! ...

Well, it's obvious there isn't a single decent QB in Pittsburgh. I'd like to see Tomlin gone, if for no other reason, than to shut everybody up. Many fans have wanted him gone for a long time (way before the mediocrity had settled in). It's exhausting. Just shut these people up.

He will definitely be in the Hall of Fame one day, though.
Response to picking QB’s in Pittsburgh.

Cower wanted Rivers. From what I remember the Rooney’s stepped in and made them take Ben.
Cower wanted a guard that ended up going to Filthy
Wonder if taking HB’s, TE’s, with early picks, trash offensive lineman in the 3rd instead of lineman early like a good center.

He's average at best throughout most of his coaching career.

Like Madden has said - Tomlin won with someone else's players
and culture. ... The Steelers had championship players and
a championship culture long before Tomlin came here.

Facs are facts, I reckon. ... Look all-about the world.
Football is a "what have ya done for me lately" business.
Has Tomlin's management and coaching really been THAT good
over the last ten years or so?? ... Hall of Fame worthy??

Just sayin'

Anyway, Cowher went 8-8 and missed the playoffs with that team Tomlin "inherited". Tomlin also drafted Timmons and Woodley, who replaced Farrior and Porter, respectively. They never even sniff Super Bowl XLIII without those two.

Additionally, Tomlin made it to another Super Bowl with even fewer of "Cowher's players". That argument is bogus. Cowher had nothing to with Tomlin making it to SBXLV. But don't take my word for it, ask Charlie Batch, who played for both coaches in question.

Tomlin's a Hall of Famer, guaranteed. A small contingent of hater fanboys in Pittsburgh will do nothing to stop that induction.
... No need to start crying there, mate.
And surely no need for insults.

... Let's keep your views and opinions (and me-own) on a
respectable level... Tomlin's first half-dozen seasons or so
are not suspect with me -- it's his last TEN years that surely
have been mediocre at best.

I didn't insult anyone, except Mark Madden. And he absolutely deserves it.
Im not a Tomlin fan but he will be in the hall of fame. Circumstances sure do help. he doesn’t sniff it without Ben, but most successful coaches have a HOF QB. But the longer he’s around the worse it gets. Cowhers 8-8 year was Ben’s motorcycle accident and appendix being removed. He won a Super Bowl 2 years prior.
Tomlin inherited Dick Lebeow and Bruce Arians as his coordinators. WTF has Tomlin hired since then? What is the reason he has absolutely zero coaches that he has hired that moved on to head coach. That’s actually hard to do for 15 years. Sheesh.
Like Bill Walsh said a head coach should never stay more than 10 years. This is enough.
... That's kinda me-own point with Tomlin there, Char.
His first few seasons, he still had Cowher's players
and coaches --- 'course to Mike Tomlin's credit - you do
still have to WIN the games -and he DID.

But the last ten years or so have NOT been good.
I'm NOT seeing how "no losing record" is that meaningful.
Winning 11 or more games a season is good.
Winning 4 or 6 games a season is bad.
Winning 8 or 9 games is mediocre.

If average and mediocre for the last 8 or 10 years makes
a fellow eligible for the Hall o' Fame, I surely reckon
they might wanna raise their standards.

... The Hall of Fame should really be "results oriented"...
In me-own humble opinion.

#### Salty
Of course it's "results oriented". He won a Super Bowl and made it to another. Most coaches in NFL history will never be able to say that. The argument that he "only won with Cowher's team" is bullshit.

And of course you need a HOF QB. Cowher doesn't win his without Ben, either. We're all seeing how smart "the genius" Bill Belichick looks without Brady now, too.

That said, maybe it's time for Tomlin to move on. Maybe. It's definitely time for Kenny to move on. He'll never amount to anything as a pro. He has zero intangibles. He's every bit as average as he looks.
Just a little perspective. Remember how bad Mitch looked Thursday night? Here was his stat line:

22/35, 190yds, TD, INT
8 rushes, 30yds, TD

That's better than 90% of Kenny's starts so far, and if Kenny had put up those exact same numbers, Yinzer Nation would be falling all over themselves praising the guy.

Point being, while Mitch Trubisky is not the answer, Kenny Pickett is clearly not the answer either. And, as for Thursday night, if the defense had played that poorly all year long, the Steelers would be 2-11 right now. Maybe 1-12.

You can't fire Tomlin and keep Kenny. Go ahead and blow it all up, if you must, but Kenny also needs to be thrown out with the rest of the trash.
