Thing is, it doesn't make sense. Can't remember Manchin EVER suggesting that this bill would reduce inflation. I would go so far as to say Manchin knew it wouldn't do that but he thought it had some other good things and a promise from Schumer to support a pipeline in West Virginia sealed the deal for Manchin like every savvy politician makes. Hell, even Sinema cut a deal. They all do it.
But poor Joe got fucked and is now respected by nobody and just might have to pay a price next time up for re-election.
