Nope. Congress founded the Continental Army on June 14, 1775 and appointed George Washington as its Commander in Chief on June 15, 1775.

That's why the parade was set for last Saturday. Preparations started long before Trump was elected.

We will celebrate 250 years of Independence on July 4, 2026 - a little over a year from now.

It's strikes me as odd that you weren't aware of the US Army's DOB. Didn't any of your news sources mention it?
