I gotta agree with 98% of your list of the greatest of all times at their positions.....Except at SF LeBron. Man, no way that guy should be mentioned in the same breath as Bird, Dr J (revolutionized the game), Elgin Baylor, ect. Hell, I'm not sure he's the best SF forward in the game RIGHT now. Spurs played some fucking ball last night!! Well fucking coached team in SA!!! Great fucking team players too!! Of course who would fuck with Pop and not be a team player? They would be shown the fucking door real fast!!

Pop is light years ahead of FrankenMcHale!!

So Prime, Lebron's about to win his third ring? Rotflmmfao !!'
He just got blown out in back to back games...AT HOME!!

He's still rings behind my man Kobe...maybe he will leave the Heat and try to team up with 2 other superstars so he can try to catch up on rings with Jordan and Kobe....the 2 best ever!!!

Good take BT!!! Go Spurs....
Total 2 game domination by the Spurs! And to top it off they were both on the Heat's home court.

Now it's back to SA, with the Spurs up 3 games to 1. Go Spurs! Finish 'em off at home!

Dandy Don wouldn't be singing yet. But he would be clearing his throat!
Bottom line is Spurs are a much better team than Miami. Take Lebron off the Heat and you have the a .500 team at best. Wade's injuries have negated his greatness, Bosh is non-existent half the time, and everyone else would struggle to start on any playoff team - they're simply not superstars.

The Spurs put on a clinic these past 2 games. If Lebron hadn't been unconscious in Game 2, this series would have been a sweep. San Antonio's uptempo motion offense is a thing of beauty and it wears teams down. Miami is tired, you can see it on the players' faces. Duncan was running the floor in the 4th quarter like a rookie.

Hold the freaking phone.

This thread is supposed to be about your "All Time Best Basketball Pickup Team". Stay on task!! I think there is an NBA playoff thread around here somewhere BUT NOT HERE!
Set'em straight, DM. I'll tell you what the best pickup team is...me, 4 guys that can pass me the ball, set a couple screens, rebound my rare misses, and kick it back out to me again.

There were always those stories of guys balling at Rucker, Venice beach, etc. that were better than some of the pros. I think one story I heard was how Kobe got schooled out there. Don't know how true those stories were, but there was always some "mythical" playground legends better than Jordan, but didn't want to go through the b.s. of high school, college, and the nba. If it's true pickup ball, hot sauce and tiny have got to be in your backcourt.

Back to the original topic:

>Calvin Murphy - not a joke but a sentimental favorite. I was still in college in 1966 up in Buffalo and Murphy was a frosh playing for Niagara and that was still before freshmen were allowed to play varsity ball. The freshman games would always precede the varsity games and many fans in that area would leave the arena after they saw Calvin do his magic with the frosh five. Varsity games were very anticlimactic! If my memory serves me correctly, Murphy also played several seasons with the Houston Rockets!
