Trouble Getting Any Business Lately... Help!

Thanks everyone for all the tips. And to "Thatdude" I am not begging for business, just trying to get some perspective on this slump my business has been in. In addition, the reason I do not call or text clients offering a special is because many of my clients have families and wives and I try to respect their privacy by not calling or texting unless they contact me first. This has been specifically requested several times. Finally, I will consider dropping my rates. Thanks everyone. Originally Posted by RHiANNON

Anyways good luck

I agree with some of others, don't lower your rate. If you typically make good or decent money at your rate just stick it out. Its been slow but really starting to pick up recently. You know your worth and what you offer In your sessions. Chin up
Not to mention tax refunds are coming!

Isn't there a loop hole where you can carry up to three providers as dependents while they attend college?

AGREED.

I wouldn't lower your rates. There are a lot of cheap bastards on here that love to bitch about anything over 200, don't listen to them. Fancy is right, if you lower your prices it may be more difficult for you to put them back up in the future. Sometimes there are just slow periods, the key is to keep plenty of money in the bank so that when you do go through slow periods, you don't get stressed or ever feel pressure to lower your prices.... Perhaps try advertising on more/different websites? Become more active on the boards and put yourself out there a bit more Originally Posted by Valerie

I agree - why would you want run a special and lower your rates?

For example at $200/hr, 2 sessions a day averages ONLY $8,800/mo - that is hardly worth the effort of even getting out of bed each day.

It is a much better idea to keep your rate high---because you do deserve that rate--and not earn anything for 2-4 weeks at a time.

And like V and others have pointed out, you were clearly smart enough during the GREAT times to save $10-20,000 to get you though this drought.

Hey guys I don't know what the deal is but I haven't gotten any business for about two weeks. I've been posting and have good reviews but I'm going broke...what gives? Originally Posted by RHiANNON

1. While this is a hobby to the guys it's a business for the ladies. In many ways your business model is like that of a consultant. You are going to have dry periods and to survive those you have to have cash reserves. I would say at least 4-6 months of cash reserves. People get sick, people get hurt, business drops off. You need cash reserves to deal with it.
2. Have you ever attended events such as the poker tournament social to meet and greet people? Back in the day when the "P"was throwing a lot of socials the smartest ladies would always attend them and would make a point to work the crowd and say a few words to as many men as possible.
3. A lady I had the pleasure of knowing who use to be the #1 rated escort in the US for a lot of years once told me that one does not become elite by self proclamation. You work your way up to it. The ladies I know who commanded top dollar started out with very normal rates, $200-$250. As the demand went up they were able to raise the rates without losing any business.
4. Like it or not $250 is the benchmark. Any thing above $250 and you had better look as good as they get with great personality to match. Guys just are NOT comfortable paying above $250. While there are lots of guys who do pay more they are not regulars on this board. We're K-Mart.
5. If you have not gotten any business for two weeks take a look at where you are advertising. Are you spending enough time answering request? Are you as visible as you can be.
6. Don't get discouraged or down on yourself. Four (4) of the greatest escorts this city ever saw were well into their 40s at the height of their popularity.
