Maybe this WAS a big story ... On the Golf Channel. for a little while.

Unlike many sports, golf is played, for the most part, without the supervision of a referee or umpire. The game relies on the integrity of the individual to show consideration for other players and to abide by the Rules. All players should conduct themselves in a disciplined manner, demonstrating courtesy and sportsmanship at all times, irrespective of how competitive they may be.
This is the spirit of the game of golf.[/I]
The Harrington Rule (Rule 33) is when a player does NOT know a violation HAD occurred; like PH's ball moved a micro-meter and the HD TV camera caught it and a viewer called it in. That does does not and should not protect a player who DID NOT know a rule. Tiger got the 2 hazard rules mixed up and combined them. Just as Ridley and the Masters mixed up the application of rule 33 in this case. The Masters committed a travesty with their decision. I don't think make an accidental mistake; but wrongly applied the rule to keep Tiger in the tournament......Tiger keeps TV ratings; sadly, even the Masters is all about the pocketbook.+1.
