I can no vote in EU, but this discossion now sounds like crying girls who canot get what they want. Your presidente will win once more, and Texas gobernor will lose all respeto from Americans.
Is very funny, no?
84 ethics violations during his tenur in Congress, first Speaker to ever be fined for unethical behavior, and resigned in disgrace. And let's not forget he cheated on his first two wives for America. When questioned about his hypocrisy and so-called "family values" by his first wife, his reply was, "It doesn't matter what I do, people need to hear what I have to say." Gingrich's staff once remarked about his odd behavior, "He's a sociopath, but he's our sociopath".During his term as Speaker, eighty-four ethics charges were filed against him; eighty-three of them were dropped. The remaining charge concerned a 20-hour college course called "Renewing American Civilization" that Gingrich had taught through a tax-deductible foundation, Allegations of tax improprieties led to two counts "of failure to seek legal advice" and one count of "providing the committee with information which he knew or should have known was inaccurate" concerning the use of a tax exempt college course for political purposes. To avoid a full hearing, Gingrich and the House Ethics Subcommittee negotiated a sanctions agreement. Democrats accused Gingrich of violating the agreement, but it was forwarded to the House for approval. On January 21, 1997, the House voted 395 to 28 to reprimand Gingrich, including a $300,000 "cost assessment" to recoup money spent on the investigation. The full committee panel did not agree whether tax law had been violated.
Is this really what it takes to sway voters these days? Originally Posted by F-Sharp

He's just using the debates as a forum to gin up more clients for his consulting business.
In 1999, the IRS cleared the organizations connected with the courses.
Newt hardly resigned in disgrace as he had a national approval rating of 45% and enjoyed overwhelming support in his district at the time of his resignation. This to me is another example of Republicans making an attempt to keep their house in order while Democrats commit far worse misdeeds and will fight forever more to remain in power [Charlie Rangel (11 convictions) et al].
While Clinton claims the credit, it was Newt and the GOP congress who balanced the budget and reformed welfare, dragging Clinton along as he kicked and screamed. No doubt Clinton was a better politician then Newt and frequently out maneuvered him politically.
On a personal level I don't like Gingrich but he has a rich pedigree and there is little doubt in my mind that he would make a very competent president. Originally Posted by Billy_Saul

Newt has actually received upwards of $1.6M from Fannie and Freddie Mac 99-08.
He keeps careening from one ethical question to another even though he's never really been squarely nailed on anything.
Perhaps the latest is the 300k he took from FannieMae, Originally Posted by theaustinescorts

I think its funny how the socialist love to get involved with the Republican selection process.I'll tell you what's funny...watching your election process! First, it was Batshit Bachmann, until you found out just how Batshit she really is. Then it was Romney, that is until that dipshit illiterate Perry decided to run. Then you actually heard him speak in public and ran the other direction. Then it was Cain, that is until you figured out he was little more than a serial rapist in a nice suit, and now you're on to Newt. Once Newt's skeletons are out of the closet (I say skeletons, but all you'll need is a quick trip through memory lane along with a swift kick in the ass) to remember just how morally bankrupt he truly is, you'll be right back to Romney. At least until you find out how Mormons view other religions, and how ultimately, as a Mormon, Romney's first responsibility is to Thomas Monson first, and everyone and everything else second. Then you'll all just stay home and sit this one out.
Whichever , candidate is selected. I will vote for him or her as long as we get that Nazi SOB out. Originally Posted by harkontume

That's why you're ultimately going to lose this election and us "socialists" will have to listen to you bitch and complain about the "Nazi SOB" for another four years.
