Except we don’t make money on war, other than a select few. Destroying shit to enrich a handful of contractors is a misallocation of resources that could be used for something good. Originally Posted by Jacuzzme

I am a child f the coldest parts of The Cold War. I helped my father build a bomb shelter in our basement in the 1960s. In grade school we practiced "sheltering in place" (under our desks!) for a nuclear attack. I lived through the uncertanty and fear of the Cuban Missle Crises. Ltaer on we all found out that it was really much closer to an nucleasr war that we thought .
So I am rooting for Ukraine and really hope this can be resolved in their favor . . .soon.
A few other thoughts do come to mind though:
"Friends" do not always have our best interests in mind.
"Enemies" can have incentives and goals of their own that do parallel our best interests.
The situation in Ukraine absolutely is serious and needs attention. However,China is the biggest threat to wold peace just now.
Having a working relationship, but not a friendshiP, with whoever is running Russia today or in the future would go far in moderating the Chinese aggression in Asia and the Pacific.
Packistan and India are in play on land. Every island natin in the Pacific is too. And it is not just imperial aggression. Itg is my belief that China has economic domination of every country that matters at heart.
So, in the big picture, Ukraine, Zlinski and Russia's desire for a warm water port on the Black Sea is really small potatoes. There are other, much larger fish to fry. Originally Posted by ICU 812

Zelensky played the fool Biden to keep getting money.
Europe won't do anything because they like the liberal idiots to spend the U.S. money so they don't have to. Originally Posted by farmstud60

Russia is dead set on not losing this war, and it won't. If the USA had been willing to start carpet bombing civilians or use nuclear weapons, it wouldn't have "lost" in Vietnam or Afghanistan. And Russia is so disposed if backed against a wall.
Russian troops could leave and the war would end immediately. Originally Posted by 1blackman1

Well, as someone who actually knows Economics and works in that field i can 100% tell you that you are truly misinformed to the point that your ignorance can only be outshined by your stupidity. The policies of Biden and in fact just about every Democratic president for the last 50 years has always led the US into a stronger economy both locally and globally, while the policies of tRump and every Republican president since Nixon has led the local/global economy to a recession. Nixon taking the US off the gold standard paved the way for Reagan's trickle down economics platform and pushed the US towards hyper-inflation. I could go into more detail but i can guarantee that you don't even understand what I've written thus far. Originally Posted by MakehermoanWho do you work for, the DNC?
