JB, JD, LL doesn't matter what he does or doesn't do, you and most of the other Repubs will be against it even it it was your idea in the fist place. It just doesn't get any stupider than that.

Didja ever ask yourself how Al Queda gets from the tribal areas in Pakistan to 700 miles into the interior desert of Algeria (not to mention Benghazi Libya and dozens of other places since they were run out of Afghanistan) when they don't have planes or ships and most members are wanted pretty much across the world and being hunted by our Special Forces? Probably not considering the source.

Al Queda has morphed since 2001 and before from a distinct organization to a movement with many loose affiliates. Much like Communism or Republicanism it doesn't require Stalin to go to Vietnam and recruit Hi Chi Minh or Lincoln to go to California to recruit Nixon. AQIM (Al Queda in the Islamic Mahgreb) is an Al Queda affiliate that has Mokhtar Belmokhtar, the terrorist who planned this attempted kidnapping, as one of its leaders. He made it to Afghanistan too late to fight Russians so he fought the government in Kabul before coming back to Algeria and starting or joining AQIM around 2007.

Turns out Mokhtar Belmokhtar miscalculated and the Algerian officials don't negotiate and their defense forces don't mess around or care much about civilian casualties. Thus it looks like no one in their right mind including AQIM will try anything like this again in Algeria.

Nice try Aus but you can't compare republicans who have a Constitution to guide them but you can compare the cult of personality in the democratic party to Stalin, Mussolini, or Hitler.

It is a sweeping fallacy to say that conservatives will not support ANYTHING Obama does. If Obama cut the entitlement programs and really reduced the federal debt then conservatives would cheer that he finally got it.

Additionally, it could be said that there's been ongoing conflict between Muslims and any number of religions, cultures and nations...even within Muslim sects themselves for a millennium. Why single out 2001?

These terrorists aren't in their right mind. They proven it time and time again. And they don't mind dying.

It doesn't get more stupid than that.

Now that he has bought a second term with empty promises he will not deliver, perhaps he will start a course correction and begin considering the other 300 million in this country who keep OUR government tit full of milk.

"But all I could think was that I was sitting smack in the middle of one hell of a target," he said. "And if the Algerian defence forces could have found it, they wouldn't have thought twice about the white guys sitting in the middle. Absolutely no question."

Now, it may be the best thing to kill 102 terrorists and sacrifice 2 hostages, who is to say? War is dirty. Certainly it would make sense if the hostages are in imminent danger. Difficult decision.
