The US cannot control every corner of the globe. We are NOT responsible for everything that goes on everywhere, even if US citizens are involved. No nation has that kind of power.

It is a fantasy of some elements on both the left and the right that we are omnipotent and we are responsible and/or able to help whenever the shit hits the fan in some far-flung land.
