creating a lawn care llc wouldnt help, the HOA board decides who the contract goes to and they are all in it together
so I just pay my dues and when they fine me for various things, i just tell them to fuck off, ie, a simiple email, like below:

What do you mean ,my trash cans were out early/late?
- do you have pictures of my trash cans?
-I dont use trash cans, I use trash bags
-I don't put my trash out weekly

I've been fined yearly for this issue, I just reply with an email and the fine gets rescinded; but they try

my other fav fine is my front/back gardens, which the HOA bylaws clearly stipulate as being common ground( which the HOA must maintain)

So when I get fines because weeds near my home are overgrown(2 years ago I had a HUGE cucumber(or something) vine grow)....considering I rarely go to my backyard, I was suprised when I get a fine about it
Eevidently it started to grow on to my neighbors plot, and she was on the board, hence the fine
I didnt pay it, see above,..I just bitched at them,. told them the by-laws and that was it

I can only explain it in comparison to rubbernecking. BCPL has asked for opinion by posting a thread, then rebutts legitimate responses with name-calling and outcry.
In both cases I tend to take the bait but try not to be crass in my replies.

Back to the topic at hand. If she is comfortable with her appearance and deadly habit, what role should adaptive behavior play in the relationship?
If it's a my way or highway, put your foot down with a firm declaration: I enjoy your affection, but am not attracted to the new you.
Just be prepared for a defensive play from her. Maybe there is something she'll ask you to modify.

Change only happens when the person wants it, so I calmly talked to her about it, and BINGO, she wants to quit smoking and I'm helping her do that.
