Local control, and vouchers. It's not the federal government's business. The schools have been hijacked to turn out cookie cutter workers for the Establishment. I've fought schools for decades, and you can't cookie cutter kids. Hell, a hundred years ago, an eighth grade education would be equivalent to two years of college, or more. I've had students in my classes at university that can't write a proper sentence. Our school even had courses in basic arithmetic. I mean, addition and subtraction, and students were struggling. This is due to federal control. The teacher has to focus their class on the slowest learner, while the bright students get bored, and in trouble. Education has gotten steadily worse with federal control.
