2023 Steelers Season Thread

Dionte shit the bed on Mitch. If he gets his toes down on a perfect strike from Mitch against the Jets. Mitch doesn’t get benched and prolly win the game.
Mitch was not any better than Kenny. And we drafted this kid with the hope of him being a player. So far, not so great but let’s not act like Mitch all of sudden forgot how to be a shitty QB. He was bad and always has been.

He won a division title with the Bears and went to the Pro Bowl.

Was he that bad? He played for a dysfunctional franchise. Tomlin put handcuffs on him. That was obvious. He’s a mediocre NFL QB. KP is prolly not as good. They should have rolled with Mitch until a truly better opportunity came up.
Ok….but how do you know what you have with Kenny until you play him. I’d still play Kenny. Be sure of what you have before you do what you guys are suggesting was done with Mitch.
One thing I don’t want the Steelers to do is settle with Kenny no matter what. Or average Mitch. Teams do that and I never understood why. Keep trying to find the elusive franchise QB!

Pickett is 18 starts into his career. There are a bunch of very good QB who's stats were similar early in their career. Josh Allen and Trevor Lawrence, for example. Kenny still has a shot to be very good and I believe that he will. I see flashes of what I want to see. I think the consistency will come with experience, and hopefully a better OC.

We have the opposite of that.

They have to stick with KP now. They really have no choice. The good thing is, he’s not costing them too much money. They would have better off drafting someone else instead of KP and rolled with Mitch. IMHO, they screwed Trubiskey. But that’s life. He’s making 10 million to wear a ball cap.
... Bambino's surely correct about all o' this!

Tomlin was hoping to save his floundering manager career.
Sign the hometowne footballer, and if he succeeds - that's Grand!
And if the lad is a bust - too bad, but we tryed.

Pickett is prolly no more than a rather average QB.
There's sad LOT of them in the league.

... But Mitch just might have got them into the play-offs
last year... Pickett didn't.

In a year or two Pickett to Pickens will be on par with Montana to Rice. They’ll have to come up with an end zone dance and get a bigger display case for all the Super Bowl trophies.

Pickett has faced 3 of the top 5 pass defenses in the NFL so far this season and has put up more yards against each of them than they allow on average, and with a higher passer rating than they allow on average. Cleveland has the number one pass defense in the NFL, giving up a paltry 125 yards a game. Brock Purdy looked bad against them today. Pickett was better than Purdy was against them.
Pickett to Pickens is a good connection. I'd like to see George get a little more separation, but KP has been good at throwing to a spot that gives GP the best chance to win.
