2023 Steelers Season Thread

I'd say starting the '22 season 2-6, then finishing 7-2 shows that Tomlin's pretty adept at making changes to reflect what's happening. I'm much more concerned with Kenny and the o-line than I am with Coach T. Originally Posted by tommy156

Much more concerning to me is the fact that Kenny seems to be getting worse as time goes on. Basically, he needs the defense to keep them in games. If the Steelers D ever comes out and shits the bed, I have zero confidence in KP and the offense to pick up the slack.

The buck stops with him

Good coach yes.... great coach? Hell no
He'll be in Hall of Fame some day, so the committee disagrees with you.

I agree Canada needs to go. I think Tomlin was saddled with Kenny (by Kevin Colbert, on his way out the door) and is just trying to make the best of a bad situation. Regardless, the Steelers essentially have 3 backup QBs at the moment.

And yet somehow, they're 5-3. Most other coaches would be 3-5 or worse right now.

Im not giving up yet on kenny. I think with a different OC, he could become a top ten qb.

and the biggest thing with tomlin is he picks his coaches. he decides and he sucks at that big time. that alone keeps him from being "great" coaches and playoff wins

you think he is a great coach? good for you and I respect anyones opinion....

I dont. take it one step further art rooney is a shadow compared to dan or the chief.....
There's a certain amount of homerism involved in saying Tomlin makes all the calls, and sucks at all of them... except Kenny. Lol.

By that logic, so far, Kenny is just another sucky call by Tomlin.

And secondly, no homerism as you suggest

I simply stated I haven't given up on him yet, maybe that's wishful thinking but not homerism

Tomlin has a huge say in the draft. And he decides who his coaches are. Do you disagree with that?

And where did I say Tomlin sucks at everything?
Pull another win out of our ass! Lol
6-3 record, only 2 teams in AFC have a better record yet only 3 teams have a worse point differential!

Lost another MLB for the year…that sucks.
... If onley they could mark better the other team's receivers
so they aint so WIDE OPEN to catch the ball!

... But as we surely said back in me-own football days:
A win is a win... No reason to piss on it.

The offence is starting to put it together.
The louts from Cleveland (with the sprite as their mascot)
will be another good test... Can't wait for the match-up!

The Steelers are an historically bad 6-3 team, but 6-3 nonetheless. I'm not at all sold on the offense yet, but will admit that yesterday they actually looked like a professional football team.

If they can string 3 or 4 more of those kinds of wins together, maybe I'll change my tune.

Neil and Levi Wallace are terrible!!!
The wide open receivers when we know they are throwing has always been a Tomlin Achilles heal.
O line is looking so much better with Jones at right tackle. Not sure why benching Chuks took so long.
Same as why did it take so long to give Jaylen Warren half the snaps. He should get even more!

As each game goes on, I'm having more doubts that Kenny is going to be our future. When you have 200. Yards rushing, that pretty much means you will have ample time in the pocket when doing play action
Kenny's throws are still inaccurate even given more time in the pocket....
Deshaun Watson is out for the year. $250 million guaranteed.
At least our average QB can be replaced. The Browns are stuck with him for four more years.
