Family of Ashli Babbitt Files $30 Million Wrongful Death Action

Again you are lying or terribly uninformed. Noone was killed with a fire extinguisher. This has been proven wrong countless times Originally Posted by chizzy

Every cop there was within thier rights to use their weapons to protect the capitol.
The only reason they did not was because they were so out numbered and knew that eventually that even with firearms the would fall, especially since there was no backup in sight!
Since trumps people told them to stand down!

Funny how none of those falsely claiming the police officer can just shoot away at someone and murder them continue to avoid answering the question

Why did Lt Byrd, AFTER shooting and murdering Ashli Babbitt, then call in a false report to try to cover up his action. "We got shots fired in the lobby. We got shots shots fired in the lobby of the House chamber. Shots are being fired at us and we’re sh, uhh, prepared to fire back at them. We have guns drawn. Please tell us why he called in the false report?
Ashli Babbitt was not "murdered" any more than any other violent, unhinged trespasser who fucks around and find out gets "murdered". Good riddance to a deranged, violent cunt. She was making the world a lesser place.

Just like ending up with a babymomma because you fucked around, that is you finding out. I think some here might relate more to knocking up a mistress than to breaking and entering and being fed a lead sandwich

But many of your fellow travelers in the Democrat Party DID favor it. BLM folks who openly advocate defunding & abolishing the police were featured speakers at the 2020 DNC convention. Numerous Dem-controlled cities - including New York, Seattle, Portland, Minneapolis, and Los Angeles - went ahead and implemented sweeping cuts in their police budgets in 2020 and 2021. Good grief! No wonder African-Americans are leaving the Democratic Party in droves!

Getting back on topic, since the Dems are so adept at exploiting tragedies for political gain - I suggest they should ask Brian Sicknick's family to give the keynote speech at their 2024 national convention!

i honestly cant understand how you guys stick to bullshit lies when the proof is right in front of you Originally Posted by chizzy

I'd say the confusion of the noises and the constant battering of the door, was likely enough reason for the cop to think that perhaps shots were being fired, by his interpretation, (not mine or yours), but in the moment, he certainly felt threatened. I see the officers on the side behind looking at the stair way and hallway, and perhaps they were told to watch for any additional access via those stairs as they may have been the access to where the members of congress were retreating too.

There's lots of un-answered questions, and I do think the cop overacted in reviewing the film, but discharging his weapon was his only weapon to dissuade those who were trying to break through that doorway. You don't fire a weapon to wound, you fire to kill. That's what he did, and I do think it's a justified shooting from what else I've read. I see a person who looked like they were trying to get through the doorway- and there was bashing and loud banging going on by her fellow insurrectionists.

The fact that she's dead for being where she shouldn't have been is all that is needed to know.

Her family will have to accept that being a political pawn cost her- her life.

The fact that more ppl weren't shot is actually amazing to me. I'd say if there is another attempt by a radicalized group determined to break into the capital, the death count will likely be much higher.

Not glad Ashley was killed...sorry that she was so gullible as to go there and act as she did, and as the other 750 plus ppl who also have been charged so far.

Never should have gotten that far!!

If the cop didn't state that, or was in-accurate on the details, that would be my input. I'm not glad that or happy that Ashley is gone- but that is a choice that she made by being in the wrong place, wrong time.

Also some others have mentioned that lefty's think that it's justified to empty clips at people typically- and this cop didn't empty his either. He fired once; no need to lie about it.

That was a complete fabrication and done after he already murdered her. There was a total of one shot fired, by Byrd. He made the false report to try to cover his lying murdering ass

here are the facts

At 2:45 p.m., or within one minute after shooting Ashli, Lt. Byrd made the following radio call: 405B. We got shots fired in the lobby. We got shots shots fired in the lobby of the House chamber. Shots are being fired at us and we’re sh, uhh, prepared to fire back at them. We have guns drawn. Please don’t leave that end. Don’t leave that end. Approximately 35 seconds later, Lt. Byrd made another radio call, stating, “405B. We got an injured person. I believe that person was shot.” In fact, no shots were fired at Lt. Byrd or his fellow officers. The only shot fired was the single shot Lt. Byrd fired at Ashli.

Here is more on the dirtbag who murdered Ashli Babbitt. He has a history of being incompetent. Anyone still going to try to defend this dirtbag murderer?

"Less than two years before January 6, 2021, on or about February 25, 2019, Lt. Byrd left his loaded Glock 22 – the same firearm he used to shoot and kill Ashli Babbitt – in a bathroom in the Capitol Visitor Center (CVC) complex. Lt. Byrd’s loaded Glock was discovered during a routine security sweep later the same day. Approximately 15,00 to 20,000 people pass through the CVC, which serves as the main entrance for visitors to the U.S. Capitol, daily during peak season (March-July). Lawmakers and staff charged with oversight of the USCP were not made aware of the incident until contacted by a reporter.

Lt. Byrd’s police powers had been revoked on more than one occasion prior to January 6, 2021, for failing to meet or complete semiannual firearms qualification requirements. In fact, Lt. Byrd had a reputation among peers for not being a good shot. Under USCP’s range management system, an officer who fails to meet firearm qualification requirements is given one week of remedial training. If the officer still fails to qualify after remedial training, police powers are then revoked until the officer qualifies.

Lt. Byrd’s police powers also were revoked for a prior off-duty shooting into a stolen, moving vehicle in which the occupants were ******. The stolen vehicle was Lt. Byrd’s car. Lt. Byrd fired multiple shots at the fleeing vehicle in a suburban area. Stray bullets from Lt. Byrd’s firearm struck the sides of homes nearby. An official investigation found that Lt. Byrd’s use of force was not justified."

I can understand why the family would want to pursue legal action for more answers. I’ve always believed that when there’s a loss of life, especially under controversial circumstances, it’s important to seek accountability. The conflicting details around Byrd's actions and the DOJ’s findings definitely raise a lot of questions. It's hard to watch, especially when it feels like there are contradictions in the official statements.

A while ago, a friend of mine was involved in a case where the details were all over the place, and they reached out to Wrongful Death lawyers in Tulsa to get more clarity. They helped make sense of things, especially when things didn’t seem to add up at first.

Are you crazy? Cops can’t just open up on unarmed people.

And ‘more’? More than none?
