Does someone's online persona reflect who they are in real life?

Some people are just like their internet personas and others aren't.

However, I am nothing like my online persona. I'm extremely shy and demure in person....nice too .

I will admit that I say what I feel a lot more on here.
Hell it's the internet. Anyone can be superman/superwoman behind a keyboard .

This kinda makes me wonder though. This place is all about anonymity and discretion. Why would people care what one is really like? Some here have stalker tendencies...forrealz. The hobby should be about fucking not putting two and two together. Fuck Fuck and Fuck -- that's my motto from now on!

Nothing wrong with being polite and cordial. The grand majority of us work for a living and have to be PC. I am a very polite person but have even debated with a hobbyist and provider at a social on things I have posted. I stand behind what I post and will argue it anywhere but I don't have to tell you to fuck yourself in person. It's no secret in Austin how I feel about some hobby issues...

Absolutely correct! I agree...there is nothing wrong with being polite and cordial. So why not be polite and cordial until some asshole gives you a reason to tell them to go fuck themselves? Thats what I do!

Skylar, here is my assessment of you...if you are this in RL, cool. Otherwise, you have 2 different personas:
1. You hold grudges (probably due to not being 'popular' growing up)
2. You are a super sweet soul and fuck sex, and all this BS, in RL you are one to be fortunate to have as a friend in RL
3. This (hobby) does not define you, yet is justifies you
4. You are growing 'ballz' now, that is why you post on the National forum
5. You do not consider yourself pretty, nor gorgeous but others see what you do not see (you are gorgeous by the way)
6. No matter what, you will not disrespect internet/eccie personas to benefit yourself but you haven't learned that confrontation is not disrespect

My persona here is pretty true to form. I have to "put on a face" in RL, so it is personally very freeing to be the cynic, asshole and general sarcastic skeptic here.

Here, I can get pissed off easily, call fuckers out, take extremely unpopular positions without fear of anything other than getting pointed, banned or attacked by the community. Here, I can adopt any attitude I want on any given day and post in any way I want as long as I stay within the rules.

I find the typical "I am not a bitch/ass hole in the real world I only play one online" to be a bit of a cop out because naturally we are all on our best behavior in our every day lives where there can be consequences to our actions both good, and bad.I guess it is easy for some to forget that real people do exist behind these online personas,and cruelty disguised as fun can not only harm the people it is directed at, but also shows very little true character in those who find it entertaining..

It has always been my belief that our actions say so much more about our true personality when we think no one is watching or keeping score than all the sweetness ever could when playing for an audience.

I am pretty new to this site.So far I have been doing more lurking than posting, but I look forward to getting more involved now that I have had the chance to get a better feel for the board
