Believe it or not, I've been told I'm smart: FOR A BLACK PERSON. TO MY FACE. I've also been told that I carry myself well. ALMOST LIKE I WASN'T BLACK. TO MY FACE! And not by the same person. Then the jerk asked me if I was mixed with White. Stereotyping intelligence and class to me is wrong. That's why I don't dwell on public opinion when it comes to people. I let people surprise me, and derive at my own opinion.

"You are incredibly hot. Don't let people tell you you're fat."
"You are the hottest girl here tonight. Everyone else looks like they've been beaten with the ugly stick." so, I guess that meant I was the least ugly of the uggos.
Some people will try to attack whatever they think will be a sensitive spot for you in an attempt to gain leverage. For an ethnic minority the backhanded compliment about their ethnicity's stereotypes. For a woman, a backhanded compliment about her weight, beauty, or intelligence. It's pretty ridiculous, but I see it a lot. Lately I've been seeing it a lot with Latina women. Immature men think it's really clever to call a Dominican a Puerto Rican, or a Colombian a Mexican. I'm not really sure that ethnic pride will make any woman overlook an adult being that bad with geography.
